Summer 2025 Learning Series: Nuts and Bolts of Assessing Student Learning in the Classroom
After you finish teaching a class, do you ever wonder what students learned? One way to begin to address this question is to think about how you gather evidence about, or assess, students’ learning. In this virtual coffee and conversation series, you will explore the nuts and bolts of assessment. What are some different models of assessment? Why is assessment important in our Ignatian context? How do you go about assessing student learning and putting these assessment models into practice? After a short presentation about the nuts and bolts of assessment, the bulk of our time together will be spent discussing assessment approaches with colleagues. This series is meant for those new to the topic of assessment and those who want to enhance their knowledge and skills.
The series will take place on Zoom on Fridays from 12pm-1pm CST. Come to all or some of the series. The dates are June 6, June 13, and June 27. Please use this to register. Contact Dr. Jessica Mansbach, interim director of FCIP, at jmansbach@luc.edu with questions.
